A while ago I had the privilage to photograph a herd of Tori horses. Tori is an Estonian heavy breed that is now endangered due to cross-breeding the purebred mares with lighter type horses, mainly Hanoverian and Trakehner.

This is an approved light-type Tori (3/4 Hanoverian) stallion Arhippos 13 535 T. Even with his rather lazy show of canter he is quite magnificent!

beautiful . i ve always loved the thicker built horses and this guy is beautiful , i really like him , do you have more info on the breed or maybe a website i could go to ?

[link] -that is the stud where Arhippos is from. There are mainly lighter toric horses, not those original toric horses.
[link] - here is a link for some real(the old type) toric horses. Unfortunately only pictures because this stable does not have a homepage. This stable has the biggest herd of real toric horses.

What a gorgeous breed. It would be a shame if it died out. The photo is beautiful too, great lighting and great focus. Well done. :)
